5-11-17 current event

"U.S. equities traded lower on Thursday as investors digested quarterly results from Macy's and Snap. The S&P 500 and the Nasdaq composite also pulled back from record territory.
The Dow industrial average fell 100 points, with Home Depot contributing the most losses. The S&P 500 declined 0.6 percent with consumer discretionary falling more than 1 percent to lead decliners.

The SPDR S&P Retail ETF (XRT) lost 2.7 percent as Macy's shares tanked.
The retailer posted adjusted earnings of 24 cents per share and revenue of $5.34 billion. Analysts polled by Reuters expected the firm to report earnings per share of 35 cents on sales of $5.47 billion."

I lot of points are being lost by big companies, I wonder if money is still being made.

current event 5/4/17

Vacation for hundreds of thousands of passengers have been cancelled because of the severe disaster. Delta Airlines cancelled more than 4,000 flights. If you called in to check. you'll be awaited with a "telephone is busy" and a dial tone. Communication was disrupted, dialing and circuits overloaded. Then flights would end up canceled for lack of a crew members lost in Delta’s communications deficiency, unaware of the assignment. It took over a week to fix these problems. In Atlanta, flights were canceled after midnight, after underground airport trains had shut down. Vacationers were forced to walk miles thorough lobby ways filled tired vacationers.

It had to of been a sad time for the citizens of Atlanta. Their vacation was ruined by the weather, and they had to walk in it afterwards. It's funny but not funny. I hope they got their money back, and I hope they're safe.

4-28-17 current event

U.S Economic reaches weakest growth in three years. January-March quarter is the lowest of consumer spending. The GDP grew by 0.7 in the first quarter then increased 2.1 by the end of the fourth quarter. Economist believe this slowdown wont last for long. Trump spoke on the weak GDP during his campaign.

The economy is slowly crumbling, and we're in the mist of an collapse. Military spending is at an all time high, food is becoming more expensive, and even scarce for some of the population. Flint still doesn't have clean water, I mean what's next, that hasn't already happened in the past?

4-20-17 current event

Wal-Mart is known for having the  lowest prices, and that's competition for other stores. Wal-Mart has everything you need, more than others, cheaper than others, and just darn right nice to look at. Wal-Mart has the largest amount of employees. Now they're having the lowest food cost in decades, but only in U.S. stores. Basically the poorer countries have to pay more. Yeah I know, that's stupid.
Wal-Mart is doing this because they have competition, with Amazon Inc.

I personally think it's great to drop prices on food. It's actually a money making strategy. Let's say you increase the price of a box of cereal, for example my favorite Raisin Bran(haha). Less people would buy a box of Raisin Bran if the cost of it was $10, but if it was $3.50 more people would buy it, or another brand. It's smart and devious, but at the same time alright with me.

current event 4-13-17

In the Andes Mountains, in Argentina, local stories are told about a mine full of fortunes, made with lithium. Lithium is used to make iPhones. A lot of big businesses are interested, even Warren Buffet. It begins in the pans of Argentina’s Salta Province and stretches all the way to South Korea and Hong Kong, which isn't bad because South Korea has U.S military bases.
This could cause problems. Money is the root to all wars. This is a billion dollar mine, and there's competition. Lithium isn't just used for iPhone's, they're used for mood stabilizers, medications, and batteries. Many businesses are on this because of the money. They don't care about you, if they did they would make things to benefit us forever, not just temporary, just so you can keep buying their product. They have way too much money to be trying to get more money.

current event 4-4-17

A potential bidder on Trump's border wall with Mexico asked if the builders of wall would be safe in case of a hostile attack, from people who don't want the wall to be built. Another asked if they can carry firearms in states with strict gun control, and asked if the government would exempt them. Some companies prepare for the worst.

Border patrol and police would create a protection zone around the construction sites to protect them.

Of course people are going to retaliate. There's people, including myself, think that building this wall would bankrupt America. People will be separated. The police better supply the workers with some kind of weapons, because people are going to do what they feel like they have to do. Good luck to them.

Current Event

The Trump administration issued a permit Friday to build on Ancient burial grounds. Trump reversing the Obama administration and clearing the way for $8 billion pipeline. This marks one of the biggest steps taken to date by the Trump administration.

The pipeline will be 1,700 miles along stretching over Alberta, Canada and passing through  multiple states such as Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Nebraska.

I find this very disrespectful to do this to the residents of these states that don't it built over their ancestors burial grounds. I bet they wouldn't built that pipeline over a fallen soldier cemetery. But they will over Native American land.
